Nintendo DS Flash Cart Intelligence

The world of DS flashcarts is a little confusing right now for n00bs (or GBA flashcart owners) to jump into. Here’s what I’ve gathered after a few days of research: – “NeoFlash” brand products are shit. Everybody on forums everywhere says the same thing, so it’s probably not worth taking the risk to find out. Build quality and compatibility seem to be the main issues. – The Supercard brand is not too bad. Decent for the prices you pay, but ROMs must be patched with included software before “burning” or copying them over to the card. I’m not sure how long this takes but it sounds like a hassle. However, they make a SuperKey product which should work fine. – Superkeys, EZPasses, Passkeys, Nokeys, Max Media Launchers… these are all the same thing. A new NoPass/PassMe exploit that allows code to be launched from a GBA (Slot 2) card, and run like DS code. Put simply, run copies of DS games from a GBA flashcart instead of the top DS slot where they are supposed …

Checking in with a new t-shirt

So I’ve been busy, and haven’t had time to set up that t-shirt store yet. I did make this one today, to complement the design I’ve had with an Olympus XA2 on it. It’s way better than the XA2 shirt, which will now need some rethinking. Oh and don’t see Pirates of the Caribbean 2. It’s a spectacularly bad waste of money (both yours and the studio’s). ———— Lomo LC-A: Think Later Currently only available through CafePress.com. I’ll make and distribute them locally once the store opens.USD$20Buy here Some images hosted by flickr.com

Charlie Parker played, "All is well."

This blog and haikulog.com are now running off the new server, and everything is going well. I lost all my mixtape archives, and the silly videos that were in my Random folder, so I will have to start filling those up again. No big issue; I’ve got room to grow and bandwidth to burn now. I may even redesign this site while I’m at it. I’ll be starting a proper t-shirt store once I find a reliable supplier and printer, as well as sort out the small problem of building up a good library of designs. The URL to that will be posted once it’s ready. Kimberly is back safely, for those of you who know her. It is indescribably good to have her around again. And I have 2 very cool new shirts and some other miscellaneous cool presents. I’ll post pictures to flickr later. Ok, time to get some sleep before the World Cup finals and what should be a busy work week.

Just a quick update now that things are mostly working again. My host had server trouble over the last weekend and decided to move our data to another datacenter. Then, partway through migration, the old datacenter deleted the untransferred data. So my site was lost, but I still have everything off-site thanks to blogger, with the rest on my harddisk. This is why I will always trust blogger over any other client-side app. The host claimed that our stuff will be restored from backups shortly, but I’ve had enough. So ten minutes ago, I bought a shitload of space somewhere more reliable, and will be moving all my sites over in the next few days. During that time, this site will be inaccessible or not very well behaved, so bear with it a little longer. I entertained thoughts of abandoning the domain name and starting a new anonymous blog elsewhere, but ultimately I’m too attached to it. I did buy a couple of new domains though, for new projects rolling out soon.
